Cafe 24@43, Crowne Plaza Bengaluru, Bengaluru, India

The brief was to re-structure and re-imagine the   overall dining experience and ambiance of the All-day dining restaurant at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Our proposal includes a glass box extension into the court, almost like a greenhouse. In plan, the box has a stepped edge, creating pocket courts for planting. This also responds to the site condition with an existing curvilinear wall. The glass box is conceived as a clean envelope, with all the structural and technical lines exposed. A fully functional system of delicate catwalks are installed over the roof for cleaning and maintenance. Low-E Glass ensures maximum efficiency in terms of heat gain.

The exposed structure plays off of the refined and luxurious interior furnishings, creating an edgy dynamic within the space. The palette is muted and yet elegant, with walnut paneling, upholstery in tones of grey and a light wood flooring. A gleaming sheet of rose-gold metal wraps tightly around the live kitchen variations, creating a striking centrality focusing on the most important aspect: the drama of food.
